Elle O'Brien has spent more than three decades practicing law across a wide range of disciplines. But the case that stayed with her most wasn't in a courtroom — it was in her own home, navigating the everyday realities of Co-Parenting as a single mother.
She lived what so many Utah parents live. The missed communications. The tension over schedules. The financial disagreements. The emotional toll of trying to do what's best for your children while managing a difficult relationship with a co-parent. Despite her legal background, she felt the same stress and frustration that any parent in her position would feel.
"I knew the law. I knew my rights. But what I needed was a better way to communicate — a neutral space where conversations could happen without the heat of the moment getting in the way."
That insight became ParentCoord. Elle designed the platform specifically for Utah families — built around Utah law, Utah resources, and the real-world challenges Utah co-parents face every day. The civility filter, the shared calendar, the expense tracking, the legal resource library — every feature comes from a place of genuine understanding of what separated parents actually need.
ParentCoord is Elle's way of giving back. After 30 years of helping people navigate the legal system, she wanted to build something that could reach families before situations escalate — a tool that empowers parents to communicate better, coordinate more easily, and reduce the stress that so often falls on their children's shoulders.
